Bi no Tsubo | Sei HOSHINO
備の壺 | 星野聖
Firing for 18 days
The NHK program “Bi no Tsubo” will feature Bizen ware. The program will feature the ceramic artist Hoshino Sei, who we regularly introduce in our gallery. Mr.Hoshino is known for his pots, jars, and dynamic, powerful firing. At this stage, we don’t know how he will be introduced, but we would love for you to see the production process. I will also be appearing, although it is a little presumptuous. In conjunction with the program, our gallery will be holding the Hoshino Sei “Bi no Tsubo” Exhibition.
We will be exhibiting and selling vases, flower vases, large plates, tea bowls, sake ware, and more.
We hope you will come to our store in this pleasant season and experience Bizen ware.
About NHK “Bi no Tsubo” , This is a manual program on how to find beauty in the various things that have colored our lives, from tableware to furniture, kimonos, food, and architecture. It focuses on three key points on how to select and appreciate each item.
The name of the program means points to appreciate beauty, but if written in kanji, the title would be written as “Beautiful Pot.”
I feel like we have something in common…We are grateful to have had this opportunity.
