When he was young, Takahara san learned about pottery, including glazes, in Kyoto.
Born in 1959. Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Pottery Vocational Training School in 1978 and Kyoto City Industrial Testing Institute the following year. After that, he studied under his father, Takahara Satoshi, a Bizen ware artist, before going independent.
His works have been selected for numerous awards, including the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition. In 2022, he was selected as a person of merit for the Traditional Crafts Industry.
Since 1998, he has held solo exhibitions at our gallery. It is characterized by its reliable technical skill and chic atmosphere.
