Each step has its own role to play in the firing process.
It is the result of observing masterpieces from hundreds of years ago and going through much trial and error to recreate their material. He is one of the most successful ceramicist in recreating the strength of masterpieces from the ancient Bizen period.
Dynamic shapes, such as the Mizusashi, The playfully colored works are one-of-a-kind and quintessential Abe art.

The display cases in our gallery were filled.
We would like to introduce some of Abe sensei’s works, which have now become more mature and flavorful.

Abe Anjin Sensei receives the 5th Oribe Award sponsored by the Furuta Oribe Museum.
The award ceremony will be held in Kyoto on November 30th.

To commemorate the Furuta Oribe Award, we would like to introduce two wonderful pieces of work.
Inbe Mimitsuki Akoda Hanaire, Inbe Mizusashi
To avoid any misunderstanding, let me explain that these works did not win any awards.
Abe sensei’s theory on design, published in a book, was highly praised, which led to him receiving the award.
We feel that these works have the strongest Oribe elements.
We have introduced many of Abe sensei’s works so far, but these two works are particularly wonderful, and make us feel the greatness of Abe sensei’s work, which is never stopping and is always evolving.
Distinctive and one-of-a-kind, these pieces have a strength that matches the extraordinary spaces they inhabit.
At the award ceremony, the director of the museum said that it would be another 100 years before we see another potter like him. Those were some memorable words.
