A superb sake bottle for a special occasion
An “Oazuke tokkuri” is a large sake flask that holds ni (two) go (approximately 360ml) or more, which is left at the seat after the host has offered sake to the guests during a kaiseki meal at a tea ceremony, allowing the guests to enjoy the sake freely among themselves.
The firing and the shaping are truly wonderful.
It’s not just a monotonous black; it has a variety of shades—matte, dry, and glossy—making it resemble a old tea kettle.
It’s a large sake bottle, but its shape and texture feel so natural in your hand, almost as if it’s clinging to it.
The base is slightly unstable, but you’ll be so captivated by the charm of this piece that you won’t mind.
It should hold about 600ml.
The paulownia wood box is already prepared.
