The rare, bluish hue of this piece offers a refreshing coolness in this heat. Its relaxed yet crisp design exudes a sense of refined elegance. The occasional splashes of red from the “Gohon” within the blue background are a particularly beautiful sight.
And above all, its greatest strength is the beautiful crackle glaze. Finally, the balance of the Kodai is good, and the way it’s carved, which gives a sense of the texture of the clay, is also excellent.
This is a wonderfully accomplished piece of work.
