We’d like to introduce you to Mr. Ishii san’s new chawans, which have just arrived.
The use of lacquer results in a smooth texture and a deep, lustrous finish.
It’s not flashy, and has a dark, rusty silver hue. The color appears different depending on the lighting (weather). There are many things to see, such as scenery reminiscent of a galaxy and the appearance of rusted iron.
Combined with Ishii san’s refined sculptural skills, it has become a fascinating contemporary work.
