Reddish-brown, black, yellow, blue-gray, dark gray, This tea bowl showcases the true essence of Bizen ware, displaying a variety of colors through its wood fired -Yohen. The Bizen clay and firing techniques, which allow for such rich colors and textures to be expressed without the use of any glaze, simply by letting the ash from the fallen firewood accumulate, are truly unique and wonderful. The color of the reddish-brown parts can appear different depending on the lighting and time of day, so I have included several photos.
